The Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing supplier quality assurance processes to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality materials and components. This role involves supplier audits, product/material requirements & validation, performance monitoring, corrective action implementation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
Supplier Quality Management: Develop and enforce supplier quality standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry and company requirements.
Supplier Audits & Assessments: Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and risk assessments to qualify new and existing suppliers.
Performance Monitoring: Establish and track supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including defect rates, on-time delivery, and cost of poor quality (COPQ).
Problem-Solving & CAPA: Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) implementation for supplier-related quality issues.
Process Improvement: Work with suppliers to implement continuous improvement by improvement methodologies (QCC, Kaizen, LEAN & Six Sigma).
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure suppliers meet regulatory and company quality standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO19443), and maintain proper documentation and certifications.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to align supplier quality with business needs.
Training & Development: Provide guidance and training to suppliers on quality expectations, standards, and best practices.
Escalation Management: Serve as the key point of contact for supplier-related quality concerns, leading resolution efforts and mitigation plans.
New Product Introduction (NPI): Support supplier selection, validation, and qualification during NPI and production ramp-up phases.
Customer quality issue: Support customer ‘s quality issue, provide clarification & introduce problem solution.
