The Specification & Standardization Engineer plays a dual role: internally, ensuring product specifications and standards are consistent, optimized, and compliant across Dextra’s portfolio; externally, actively promoting Dextra’s technologies to contractors, designers, and consultants, while progressively building expertise to influence international codes, standards, and industry practices.
This position offers a clear growth trajectory. With mentorship and exposure, the engineer will progressively take on more strategic responsibilities, including:
- Influencing international standards and codes.
- Leading specification efforts with consultants and designers.
- Representing Dextra in technical committees and industry platforms.
Product Specification & Standardization
- Develop, maintain, and harmonize product specifications across Dextra’s portfolio.
- Ensure specifications meet international standards, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
- Drive standardization initiatives to reduce complexity
- Support the qualification and approval of products with consultants, contractors, and authorities.
- Assist in developing tools and materials that help consultants and designers integrate Dextra solutions into their designs.
- Participate in monitoring and interpreting international standards (ACI, AS, IS, Eurocode, etc.).
- Support senior staff in representing Dextra in technical committees and industry forums.
Promotion & Technical Advocacy
- Promote Dextra’s technologies to contractors, designers, and consultants by providing technical presentations, training, and specification support.
- Collaborate with Business Development and Sales teams to secure product inclusion in project specifications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, associations, and regulatory bodies.
- Represent Dextra in technical committees, working groups, and industry forums.
Influence on Standards & Codes
- Monitor global construction codes, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks relevant to Dextra’s technologies.
- Contribute technical expertise to international and local standardization committees.
- Advocate for the inclusion of Dextra’s innovations into relevant standards and norms.
- Act as an internal advisor on emerging regulations and their potential business impact.
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Building
- Analyze trends in design codes, specifications, and market requirements.
- Document best practices and provide training to internal teams.
- Support R&D and product development with specification and standardization insights.
- Prepare reports on specification wins, standardization progress, and code-influence initiatives.
Qualifications Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in product engineering, specification management, or technical marketing.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry standards (ACI, ASTM, Eurocodes, ISO, etc.).
- Proven experience engaging with consultants, contractors, or standardization bodies.
- Excellent technical communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in lobbying or contributing to international standards is a plus.
- Strong command of English communication
